Job Description

This position is located in the NAIC’s offices in Town Pavilion in the heart of downtown Kansas City which includes great restaurants, and top-notch entertainment venues. 

Responsibilities include:

·         Microsoft Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, and cloud instanced administration: operating system installation and configuration, Microsoft Server Role installation and configuration, apply regular patches for security and functionality and modify configuration for performance enhancements.

·         SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint online administration: Support, configure, and manage the SharePoint installation used for document management, Support SharePoint server for document management, Preform daily system monitoring, propose and implement enhancements that improve reliability and performance of those systems, verify the integrity of hardware, server resources and key process of SharePoint.

·         Microsoft Server administration and troubleshooting: Installs and configures Operating Systems: Applies regular patches for security and functionality once approved by the LAN Systems Manager, suggests configuration changes for performance enhancements and schedules and works maintenance windows to modify and enhance production environments.

·         Virus Utilities and virus definition updates.

·         Maintains server security on the Active Directory servers.

·         Carries a pager and responds to it during and outside of normal business hours.  The pager will be carried for a week at a time on a rotating basis.

  • Participates in rotation for conducting technical training during bi-monthly new employee orientation.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education and/or experience required:

A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year College or University and three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience are required. A minimum of three years’ experience in administration of Windows file shares, Microsoft Active Directory, and SharePoint are also required.  MSCE (Microsoft Certified Engineer) certification would be preferable.

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

·         Must have an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration and replication.

·         Must have strong communication skills to enable them to interact with all levels of the organization.

·         Must have a complete knowledge of server and workstation hardware and assembly.

·         Must be professional and courteous with all customers and all levels of NAIC staff.

·         Proficient with server and workstation hardware.

·         Must have a sound knowledge of desktop and server operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 2008 or 2012 server) and distributed e-mail systems.
