Accounting Specialist

Job Description

Maintains accounts by identifying, verifying, and recoding transactions.

Documents employee actions by verifying and recording daily work reports.
Maintains material and supply control by proofing and comparing documents.
Maintains gasoline credit cards by issuing cards; polling transactions; recording purchases.
Maintains financial security by following internal accounting procedures.
Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Able to demonstrate, by training, experience and/or testing the knowledge, skills and abilities shown above.
Highly organized with a strong sense of scheduling and follow up
A strong knowledge of employment law and their intricacies.
Able to read and accurately interpret documents such as operating instructions, technical procedures, government regulations, work instructions, policies and procedure manuals written in English.
Able to communicate, one-on-one and in small groups; able to interact with employees using patience and compassion.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.
Possess proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets and recordkeeping.
Able to operate standard office machinery (computer, phone, fax, copy machine, etc.).
Able to maintain confidentiality regarding company business and employee information.
By the accuracy and completeness of all records for which this position is responsible for maintaining.
Accurate and timely file maintenance.
By the ability to meet deadlines imposed upon the work for which this position is responsible.
Follows work instructions and established procedures.

Job Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent; OR
Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; OR
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience
