Job Description

Title: Business Analyst

Duration: 12 Months

Location: San Francisco, CA 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Conduct ad-hoc research and data support, and prepare datasets, charts, dashboards and presentations for staff projects

·         Explore data to derive business insight

·         Assist in testing and implementation of business projects

·         Contribute to initiatives such as mining new data sources, developing data tools, evaluating data visualization software tools, or developing documentation

·         Facilitate requirement gathering sessions and assist in documenting business requirements and technical design documents

·         Review and provide feedback on the user guides and other technical design documents

·         Manage a knowledge base of content with careful attention to formatting and detail

·         Develop presentations and slide content

·         Develop visualizations using BI tools

·         Write user stories and manage the product backlog

·         Track access for various roles in Dev, QA and Production environments and request access using the system tools

·         Assist developers in writing user guides, training documents, deployment plans, test plans, etc.

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Undergraduate degree from a four-year university or college

·         3-5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst or Business Systems analyst

·         Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) and work in a team environment

·         Intermediate to advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office tools

·         Intermediate Excel knowledge

·         Passion for technology

·         Critical thinker and problem solver

·         Self-starter and willingness to learn

·         Strong quantitative and analytical skills

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Ability to balance multiple assignments and shift gears when new priorities arise

·         Experience eliciting and documenting use cases

·         Experience writing user stories and managing product backlog Nice-To-Haves

·         Advanced Excel knowledge and programming

·         Knowledge of Hadoop and other Cloudera offerings

·         Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau in designing compelling visualizations in the form of dashboard and reports

·         Familiar with Agile methodologies

·         Knowledge of SQL databases

·         Understanding of algorithms for machine learning, NLP, etc.
