Job Description

Essential skills Required

  • Assist in the day to day operation of shipping and receiving under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Perform jobs in a safe and error free manner and follow all safety rules.

  • Attend scheduled safety meetings.

  • Safely operates forklift to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.

  • Performs routine inspections to ensure forklifts are suitable for use.

  • Ships and receives materials to fulfill orders and receives materials from suppliers.

  • Weighing products or materials and recording information for inventory purposes.

  • Enter data into computer of all orders received daily and file supplier paperwork.

  • Pick items as requested by pick list, and prepare shipments using wrap machine and proper label practices, to ensure DOT transportation requirements.

  • Use of proper equipment for the safe handling of equipment and supplies.

  • Use and maintain good housekeeping practices.

  • Keeps Warehouse Supervisor informed.

  • Package hazardous and non-hazardous product samples for shipping to customers.

  • Learn and understand the regulations for shipping materials, specifically DOT and IATA regulations for ground and air shipments.

  • Coordinate with the QC employees to ensure shipments are properly packaged, marked and labeled for shipment for international and domestic movement.

  • Coordinate with R&D, corporate and local, to obtain samples that need to be created in the laboratory.

  • Identify when a sample must be re-checked by the QC laboratory.

  • Maintain an inventory of product samples and obtain new samples when existing samples age.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Educational Requirement

  • HS Diploma or GED

Skills and Experience


  • Ability to learn and develop efficient use of computer terminal, and SAP transactions to complete duties.

  • Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.

  • Ability to follow directions.

  • Ability to lift objects up to 75lbs. using proper lifting techniques.

  • Assist in following security procedures within warehouse and laboratory.

  • Must be able to see different colors of the spectrum.

  • Previous fork lift experience.

  • May have to work in confined work areas and wear a respirator.
