A fast moving legal department has a great opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Legal Assistant who is looking to grow their legal career. If you are a motivated self-starter and standout colleague with good computer skills and ability to multitask, with a real passion for the legal industry, this may be the position for you. This short term temporary Legal Assistant employment is based in the Parsippany, New Jersey area. What you get to do every day - Assemble a variety of documents and correspondence - Monitor deadlines and maintain the case calendar - Draft correspondence and pleadings, arrange for service on parties - Deliver secretarial support and special reception - Aid attorneys with key discovery and client intake - Contribute to the preparation of exhibit binders for depositions, trials, and hearings - Prepare court filings and file electronically as required - Uphold the standards of confidentiality at all times - File hard copies of documents and maintain electronic document system - Answer incoming phone calls and assist with handling phone lines when at high volume

Job Requirements

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - Knowledgeable with Internet research, Google suite functions, calendaring, Word, and Excel - High attention to detail and possess excellent organizational and writing skills - Solid understanding of billing - Adeptness in complaints - Demonstrated knowledge of products liability law - Proficiency in regulatory law - Regulatory compliance experience preferred - Expertise in auditing - General familiarity with Calendar (docket) - Summons experience - Practical knowledge of calendar managements and scheduling appointments - Demonstrated enthusiasm to learn new ideas and concepts - Demeanor to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines - Excellent phone etiquette and ability to establish rapport with diverse clientele - 2+ years of previous work experience and a dedication to integrity - Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
