LEONI CABLE:  We are one of the world’s largest producers of automotive cables.  In addition to standard automotive cable, coaxial, ABS and Hi-Temp Cables for automotive applications we also produce UL cable for household appliances; as well as UL cable for the oil & gas market.  Our products have various applications - in cars, computers, household devices and even trains.

Job Requirements

Position Overview:
The Sales Assistant is a member of the Inside Sales team at LEONI Cable Inc., a leading global manufacturer of engineered cable solutions.  The LEONI Rochester, MI office focuses on cable for the Automotive Industry with sales to most major Tier One automotive suppliers servicing all major automobile manufacturers. 

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Interacts with customer Purchasing/Engineering and LEONI Sales and Engineering to collect inputs for cable quotations
  • Manages the internal LEONI quotation process to provide colleagues in Michigan, Mexico, and/or Europe the proper information to generate Manufacturing Costs
  • Utilizes Manufacturing Costs to generate a recommended sales price using SAP, Excel tools (Calculation Sheet), and research of past quotations of similar cables
  • Works with Sales Account Managers and Sales Managers to discuss and agree upon final quotation details and creates/delivers the quotation to the customer
  • Responsible for all associated data entry, record keeping, and filing of customer quotations and general maintenance of historical quotation records of the assigned customers
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supports Sales/Engineering staff with information gathering, problem resolution, and other follow-up with internal or external customers
  • Occasional relationship building visits to local (Detroit area) customers with the assigned Sales Account Manager or Sales Manager
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two plus years of Strong Customer Service orientation and focus
  • Excellent grasp of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and prior use of an ERP system
  • Ability to manage multiple, conflicting deadlines in a high paced sales environment
  • Four plus years of Inside Sales responsibility for high volume products
  • Prior use of SAP
  • Automotive supplier or Automotive OEM experience in a similar type of role
  • Spanish language skill helpful (not required) for interaction with Mexico plant teams

Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S.
