WE Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Work Methods & Development Consultant in our West Allis, WI location. A primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate and manage the Line Mechanic Apprenticeship Program for employees in CSO (Electric Operations) at We Energies. This position will also be the primary trainer/SME for our Transition to Trainer Program for all We Energies CSO employees whose occupations (Designer, Line Mechanic) require the certification. The position will assist leadership and the Safety Department as an expert technical resource in more complex significant incident investigations.

Program Ownership: The Line Mechanic Apprenticeship and The Electric Operations Transition to Trainer. Responsible for: testing progressions, designs, development and delivery of more complex educational programs and materials; developing and monitoring progression exams and performance measures for workers in electric line, underground and other electric related work to ensure quality and safety standards/regulations. Leads: safety/operations meetings and conducts job site evaluations. Assists: incident investigations and storm restoration.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 2-3 yrs. experience in operations with ability to develop, document and deliver adult learning programs.

Associate Work Methods and Development Consultant:

  • Entry Level with some relevant experience.
  • Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints.
  • Experience working with project management methodology beneficial.
  • Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Dedicates required time and energy to overcome obstacles to completing tasks and assignments.
  • Seeks and uses feedback and other sources of information to identify appropriate areas for learning.
  • Understanding of basic adult learning concepts and practices beneficial.

Work Methods and Development Consultant:

  • In lieu of operations experience, a degree is required and a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in teaching/training.
  • 2-3 years Operations or relevant experience.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities identified in Associate Work Methods and Development Consultant Position.

Senior Work Methods and Development Consultant:

  • In lieu of Operations experience - degree required and minimum of 5 yrs. experience in teaching/training.
  • 5 years Operations or relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning practices.
  • Needs analysis to identify issues, problems and opportunities with client to identify the appropriate course of action.
  • Demonstrated people and change leadership capability.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities identified in Associate Work Methods and Development Consultant Position (level 4) and Work Methods and Development Consultant Position (level 5).
