Job Description

Senior IT Administrator for one our prestigious clients located in El Dorado Hills, California. The ideal candidate will take ownership over all aspects of IT and should be proficient at leveraging vendors and service providers as a team extension. This individual will play as an IT Generalist who has a solid foundation, as well as a desire to expand their knowledge base into multiple different aspects of an IT environment. Day-to-day activities can range from assisting end-users in troubleshoot their desktops, to backing up shared storage files, to monitoring network feeds, and leveraging security logs to ensure malicious attacks are prevented and remediated. Any candidate should have 5-7 years of experience in the following requirements.

Experience & Qualifications:
Must Have:
  • Solid Customer service skills
  • The ability to work closely with end users in identifying the issues and resolving them in a courteous and responsive manner.
  • 5-7 years' experience managing an enterprise Windows environment
  • Experience with windows migrations and active directory upgrades
  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory to include implementation of GPOs, file and print services, DNS, Domain Controllers and application servers
  • Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Window Server 2012, experience
  • Experience managing the imaging of laptops and desktops
  • Experience with Enterprise Backup software
  • Experience with iSCSI SAN environments for shared storage (preferably Nimble).
  • Experience managing a Microsoft Hyper-V environment
  • General experience and background with both Wired and Wireless networks

Nice to Have:
  • Cisco Networking (CCNA)
  • o365 migration experience
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks NGFW platform
  • Some SQL database experience
  • CRM/ERP Application trouble shooting experience
    • Customer uses JobBoss – no expectation for experience with Job Boss but would be a nice plus if a customer had supported that application in a previous environment.

  • Provide a good customer experience for all staff as it relates to IT needs
  • Provide the day-to-day system administration of Windows Servers based operating systems to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
  • Troubleshoot, configure, and manage Windows servers (domain controllers, application servers, mail servers, file servers.)
  • Increase system administration efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, and develop system administrator procedures.
  • Monitor systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establish back-ups, and monitor systems security.
  • Work with team in developing standard desktop imaging practices that can be deployed and managed throughout the enterprise
  • Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes.
  • Work with management to set and define IT standards

  • BS Degree (or technical equivalent) in an applicable field such as CS, MIS, etc.
