Job Description

Key Elements and Essential Tasks

  • Understand general concepts in Life Safety Systems, Building Automation Systems, and Mass Notification tools and how these interface with the ROC
  • Provide support for security product researchnand other platforms in support of the ROC’s missionetc.
  • Responds to client’s service related issues promptly
  • Must handle on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis
  • Maintain full compliance with company’s and customer’s safety program
  • Perform systems administration, upgrades, and change management
  • Ensure operational effectiveness and service levels are appropriately maintained
  • Support daily ROC operations
  • Coordinate system and equipment repairs through contracted vendor, site IT support, and IT networking teams. 
  • Assist system owners with updates and upgrades to software platforms
  • Identify system issues and conduct an evaluation of scope and magnitude.  Engage and coordinate systems integration vendors as appropriate to resolve issue. 
  • Ensure collaboration between vendors, system owner, and information technology resources
  • Coordinate processing and completion of work orders
  • Maintain and update Computer Aided Dispatch database platform
  • Any and all other assigned duties and tasks

Education/Training

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or bachelor degree in computer science or related area preferred

Relevant Experience

  • Three years' experience in the security field or emergency operations center working with relevant systems
  • Five years' experience in security field or emergency operations center working with relevant systems preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Must have a technical background in access control along with a working knowledge of video surveillance, intrusion detection, and IP networking.
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
  • Must have an understanding of general IT infrastructure systems.
  • Working knowledge of security related programs including C-cure 9000, Milestone, Commend, Stentofon, Crestron, D3 Computer Aided Dispatch, NetClient DVR integration, Nice voice recorder, and Vesta mass notification. Familiarity with Honeywell and Siemens fire systems is also preferred. 
  • Must possess product research skills including use of internet, catalogs, manufacturer and distributor tech, webinars and seminars.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Completion of vendor specific technical courses including C-Cure 9000, Milestone, and/or Honeywell Commend and fire protection systems.

  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation

Certifications/Licenses

  • Valid and current driver's license

Physical Work Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Ability and willingness to access tight spaces and work on equipment under or behind consoles.
  • On-call weekends, nights, and holidays. Flexible work schedule.
