Job Requirements

Our 10-week Summer Internship Program is an ideal way for both undergrad and graduate students to gain real-life work experience while learning what a career at Blue Shield of California can offer. Interns work on real-world projects and initiatives while being immersed in all aspects of our business. From interacting with senior leadership to visiting a neighborhood health clinic, interns will build a better understanding of the diversity and complexities of working in the dynamic world of health insurance.

Below is some information on the project this intern will be working on:

Reporting to the BSA Quality and Training manager, the role of the quality/training business analyst is critical to the success of Blue Shield of California and the BSA department in realizing its goals and objectives. This individual will play a key role as part of the BSA team in supporting, delivering and collaborating on all aspects of the development, delivery, and maintenance of the quality and training programs. The business analyst role will also provide oversight on metrics, reporting, and ROI measures. Specifically, the business analyst role will be accountable for:
•Learning key business unit processes to identify issues & opportunities
•Collaborating with other teams for input, deliverables, and solution finding
•Creating, updating, and delivering and/or communicating documentation (desk level procedures, training content)
•Assisting with training processes
•Defining standards and processes to improve
• Performing Gap analysis
•Scheduling timelines as part of project management

Candidate Profile and Requirements:
•Pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Business Marketing, Admin, or Communications preferred
•Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
•Advanced Excel, Power Point, and Visio preferred
•Experience with data analytics, project management, marketing communications and business writing required
•Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodology preferred
•Knowledge of Sharepoint preferred
