Job Description

This position with Carmichael International Service (a subsidiary of APL Logistics) provide assistance and follow up in the delivery of goods, issuing of OB/L and freight charges release and exam notification. Confirm the Customs release with the various modes of transportation. Relay any issues pending to the client regarding the delivery of goods.


Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Liaise with carriers, forwarders, terminals and truckers to ensure timely releases and smooth movement of import loads. Address any issues/holds as needed.

  • Liaise with CBP/OGA on both a local and national level to resolve any cargo holds/delays/exams and effectively work towards prompt resolution. Ensure 100% compliance and follow due diligence.
  • Achieve and maintain good relationships with both external and internal customers. Follow good care for successful customer retention.
  • Monitor customer’s import shipments. Identify potential problems/issues and communicate promptly. Oversee fluid movement of clearances and cargo move milestones.
  • Collect and maintain key data elements to satisfy customer reporting requirements. Upload/transmit/report shipment milestones.
  • Outlay of any final/outstanding charges and invoice as needed. Rate negotiations with carriers/draymen. Seek additional CIS revenue through existing/new potential clients by offering clients one of the following: trucking, warehousing, distribution, insurance, forwarding, supply chain, etc

 Key Results:
  • CBP/OGA hold, exam expediting and compliance
  • Ensure timely/efficient move(s) of import shipments nationwide
  • Reconcile invoicing/payments of any open items. Identify possible new revenue/profit
  • Upload/manipulate customer reporting requirements as needed and data maintenance
 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma / G.E.D.
  • 2 yrs of traffic experience
  • US Customs Brokerage experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook. Solid/effective problem solving, organization, follow up/commitment to task, communications skills (verbal/written), teamwork, coping, attention to detail.
