Demonstrates skills in the following areas including but not limited to: advanced newborn assessment, neonatal resuscitation, transitioning a newborn from intra to extra uterine life, safe utilization of medications, respiratory management of the infant to include ventilator support and nasal CPAP, transportation of the sick neonate, newborn hearing screening, CHD screening, transcutaneous bilirubin screening, developmental interventions and breastfeeding. At NorthBay Health, a Registered Nurse on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model.
