Please refer to the Human Resources webpage for additional details on our benefits and eligibility.Essential FunctionsInstructional Duties:<ul><li>Participate in course and curriculum development and advancement of the program.</li><li>Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.</li><li>Teach anesthesia principles and basic sciences in a variety of courses including select clinical residency courses and CRNA simulation labs which align with curriculum goals. May teach additional courses consistent with the needs of the department.</li><li>Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.</li><li>Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams, projects, and assessments for assigned courses.</li><li>Advise and mentor students; provide individual assistance to students during weekly office hours.</li><li>Actively participate in student activities to promote student success and engagement.</li><li>Deliver high quality web-mediated lectures in a variety of teaching modalities (face to face, hybrid and hyflex formats).</li><li>Communicate timely with students, departments, and university officials via the learning management system and UIW applications.</li><li>Advise, guide and contribute to student DNP scholarly project processes including IRB.</li><li>Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.</li><li>Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.</li><li>Engage in scholarly research activities within the specialty OR Perform regular scholarly research and publication.</li><li>Maintain required professional certifications and licensures within the industry.</li><li>Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Program Administrative Duties:<ul><li>Maintain program curriculum according to accreditation and university standards.</li><li>Comply with policies and procedures that are consistent with the overall mission of the school and in compliance with accreditation standards and other regulatory agencies.</li><li>Assist with recruitment and enrollment of students. In 1881 the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word founded Incarnate Word College as a center of higher education for young women. The college was admitted to membership in the Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools in 1919, and joined the Texas Association of Colleges as a senior college in 1920. The Graduate Studies division was established in 1950. Male students were first admitted into the college's undergraduate programs in 1970. Incarnate Word College became the University of the Incarnate Word in 1996. Today, UIW is a Hispanic-Serving Institution under federal guidelines. UIW is the largest Catholic university in Texas and the fourth-largest private university in the state. The enrollment reflects the diversity of South Texas, as more than 60 percent of the students are from racial or ethnic minority groups. ORGANIZATION
