Job Requirements

EDUCATION:  Clinical master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or Licensed Professional Counselor.
CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION, OR LICENSE:  Kansas State clinical license (a license to practice independently) as required by professional regulatory board or professional association strongly preferred. LSCSW, LCMFT, LCPC, LPC, LMFT or LMSW.
EXPERIENCE:  Two years post-graduate clinical experience and proficient use of current DSM edition.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to use a personal computer via mouse and keyboard with familiarity with Windows and Microsoft products. Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Registered Play Therapist (RPT) is preferred. Employee must be willing to become proficient in use of Electronic Health Record.  Will participate in ongoing training and licensure renewal to maintain position.

  • Assure assigned productivity standards are met. May be assigned Clinical Assessment counseling and Clinical Assessment Reports for Immigration Services as a portion of clinical hours.
  • Interview clients to assess emotional, social, and educational needs. Completes and records intake assessments, social histories, mental status exams, suicide and other risk assessments and other related information according to agency policies.
  • Provide accurate diagnoses, develop treatment plans with clients to assist clients in meeting their goals.  Treatment plan updates are due every 90 days or in response to client sentinel events.
  • Provide appropriate referrals to clients to other agencies or services as needed.
  • Conduct individual, couple, family, or group therapy sessions. Provide a strengths approach to client problems and concerns. Confer with outside providers to document client progress where appropriate.
  • Promote program services and maintain professional contact with other area providers / agencies. Represent program to interested groups through discussions or seminars on psychoeducational topics.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, and case record review according to agency policies to ensure quality care of clients and compliance with case records.
  • Work effectively with Program Director to actively seek out promotional opportunities for staff clinical expertise.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and support for, the mission of organization and acts as a representative of the non-profit in this role. 
  • Performs other related assigned duties.
