Job Description

We are currently seeking a Faculty Development Coordinator to join our team immediately in sunny Los Angeles!

The FDC serves as the central information resource for University policies and procedures related to the faculty promotion process. Provides training and guidance to departmental personnel with responsibility for promotions.  Works closely with the Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs, Associate Chair of Faculty Development and Administrator of Faculty Affairs and Development on faculty development efforts.  Maintains confidential faculty personnel files.

Main Job Duties:
  • Coordinates faculty promotions process
  • Reviews promotion paperwork for completeness and accuracy
  • Develops faculty dossiers for all faculty going through promotion process
  • Maintains confidential information in faculty file

Other Responsibilities:
  • Staff’s University FAPTC and Pediatrics APT Screening Committee meetings
  • Manages communications
  • Provides meeting minutes
  • Provides training and guidance to departmental personnel on the promotions process  
  • Advises faculty materials needed to complete a dossier
  • Maintains the faculty development webpage
  • Researches faculty career development opportunities (local and national)
  • Manages applications
  • Manages all faculty development events
  • Manages faculty mentoring activities such as mentoring match lunch meetings
  • Prepare reports as needed
  • Performs other duties as requested

Skills Required:
  • Normal office equipment: PC, telephone, photocopier, fax machine

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration OR 
  • Equivalent combination of related education and work experience

Working Experience Required:
  • One-year experience in program planning and implementation; community organizing experience; and administrative/supervisory experience
Strong Preference to Candidates Who Have:
  • A strong financial background
  • Data analysis
  • A detail-oriented mindset
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of quantitative research methodology and data collection strategies
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary team
