LyondellBasell's Houston Refinery, one of the largest refineries designed to process heavy, high-sulfur crude oil is in search of an Analyzer III. Our 268,000-barrel-per-day refinery is strategically located on the U.S. Gulf Coast with access to interstate pipelines and the Port of Houston. The facility covers approximately 700 acres at the city limits of Houston and Pasadena, Texas. The Houston Refinery was one of the first petroleum refineries constructed on the Houston Ship Channel and traces its origin to 1918. The Analyzer III is a direct-hire position with a competitive salary, bonus, 401K matching and benefits package.
Trouble-shoot, configure, and teardown/rebuilding of process analyzers such as chromatographs, regulatory analyzers monitoring emissions, and apparatus designed to determine chemical or elemental component amounts in a process stream; records data associated with periodic testing.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years experience working with industrial process analyzers in the petrochemical or refining industry
- Ability to diagnose the cause of malfunction, or failure, of process analyzers and perform the necessary preventable maintenance or corrective maintenance
- Must be able to read P&ID's, Spec sheets and understand Loop Sheets
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to pass a proficiency test in order to be certified for the position
- Experience with equipment such as the Siemens Maxum-II GC, the Thermo-Electron Sola-II sulfur analyzer, the Thermox oxygen analyzer, the ABB Limas UV NOx analyzer, the ABB Magnos Paramagnetic oxygen analyzer, and the ABB Uras IR CO analyzer (among others) is preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident).
