Position Details:
This Nurse Practitioner is specific to our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Provides safe, efficient age specific nurse practitioner level care to patients/families using nursing/medical interventions/modalities in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient services in the department.

Essential duties include: Implements advanced assessment of patients physical and psychosocial health/illness status and initiates care; Coordinates the implementation of the nursing process and practice to provide effective and efficient care to patients/families; Supervises and serves as a resource to other health professionals; Communicates and collaborates clearly and effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate unit operations; Demonstrates leadership in the practice of nursing to promote quality patient care. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients and families. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.

Position Requirements: 
Demonstrated competence in identified area of expertise. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated a professional demeanor when responding to patients. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet education and patient care needs (eg. Stethoscope, cardio-respiratory monitor).

Job Requirements

Educational Requirements:
Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with Advanced Practice Certification

License Requirements:
Ohio RN license, Ohio COA

Preferred qualifications:
Ideal candidate would have PICU RN experience

A PTO Bridge Program is currently being offered to experienced Nurse Practitioners with at least 5 years of nursing experience. 

University Hospitals is currently offering an $8,000 sign on bonus for designated regularly statused Nurse Practitioners who are hired to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. This includes internal transfers within University Hospitals who are NP New Graduate employees.
