Grinding Manufacturing Engineer

TYPE:  Engineering

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience processing and launching new equipment and products
  • Knowledge of high precision grinding such as centerless, OD/ID, end feed, through feed or in feed.
  • Strong Analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working in high precision automotive, engine, aerospace, medical device or other high precision industries.


  • Review and evaluate new design prints or solid models.
  • Select the most efficient grinding equipment to optimize the process.
  • Justify and/or procure new grinding technology.
  • Specify grinding wheels, dressing and compounds.
  • Develop and/or design fixture and work holding devices.
  • CNC Programming is preferred, buy not required.
  • Perform project management responsibilities for assigned manufacturing changes or new product launches, including facilitating or participating in project start up teams.
  • Evaluate existing machinery and processes to recommend improvements that enhance both operator performance, quality, efficiencies, takt time, cost, productivity and overhead.
  • Oversee or assist the machinist/operator in setting up new or enhanced job processes.
  • Support the shop floor troubleshooting and debugging grinding equipment and processes.
  • Develop or revise technical documentation to specify manufacturing processes; including documentation of equipment, qualification, set up and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure processes meet quality, safety and production standards.
  • Strong computer, MS Office software and CAD skills.
