Leader in their industry, stable and profitable manufacturing related company is seeking a SQL Programmer to perform analytical and technical tasks to develop advanced complex SQL based solutions. This will include MS SQL server and reporting experience; DBA type, data warehouse development, data management skills, SQL Server performance monitoring, developing/coding in SSAS (multidimensional cubes), SSIS (ETLs – data transfer), designing reports in SSRS, Tableau reporting, writing complex stored procedures, functions, triggers.
The SQL Programmer will obtain a competent understanding of our technology, tools and existing designs or systems and will work with internal business units to analyze advanced complex business scenarios or corporate initiatives.
Experience in a manufacturing environment desired but not required. SQL Programmer will work across company and locations and bring in fresh new perspectives on how to manage data and systems.
Will specify, design, develop, test, implement, and support systems and processes to satisfy business objectives. Produce appropriate documentation and training materials at project completion. Provide tier 1 support to the Help Desk as necessary for the timely resolution of routine problems or service requests within the scope of his job role (i.e. data reporting needs). Perform the analysis and troubleshooting of routine application issues. Will stay abreast of appropriate technologies, methods, and processes to continue to grow and contribute and pursue Microsoft Certifications to enhance his SQL/Business Intelligence skills.
The SQL Programmer is a key member of the IS Team that provides support to users of business software such as ERP, CAD, CRM and Business Intelligence. Experience with VBA and Java would be preferred but the emphasis is on SQL. Within the sphere of these business software applications, provides subject matter expertise and end-user support in the forms of teaching and coaching, technical troubleshooting, customizations, upgrades, and consulting on the most efficient usage of these systems. May also function as a process engineer, as an individual or as a member of a multidisciplinary project team.
The SQL Programmer will rely on experience, logic, and strong problem solving and communication skills to support and enhance our business application and Business Intelligence environments. The candidate will also have a business background with an emphasis on working in a manufacturing environment.
Position responsibilities include:
Create and/or customize SQL code in support of corporate initiatives
Collaborate within teams to create specifications for reports, data mining requirements or application enhancements.
Support SQL based ERP, CRM and CAD business systems
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, implements and documents applications and systems.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming or related field or comparable job-related experience and training. 3-5 years of relevant work experience and SQL or Business Intelligence certifications are preferred
Additional requirements include:
Microsoft BI Stack tools (SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
SQL programming – compose complex queries using efficient coding practices, functions, and stored procedures
Experience in a SQL data warehouse environment
Relational databases, MS SQL preferred
Adaptable, collaboration, creative, negotiation, communication, presentation and group dynamics
