The City of Fort Worth Property Management Department, Facilities Division, provides City Departments with world class facility planning, design, construction, renovation and maintenance services; and the Division is seeking a qualified Journeyman Plumber. The selected candidate must be able to independently troubleshoot, repair and maintain plumbing systems and equipment in City buildings. A valid State of Texas Journeyman Plumber License is required. The Facilities Division maintains over 300 facilities throughout the City of Fort Worth. This position requires driving to facilities throughout the City to perform preventive maintenance, make plumbing repairs and install plumbing equipment. This position offers a 4-day work week. Shift hours are 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday or 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday – Friday, depending on business needs.
Candidates must have the ability to utilize appropriate tools in performing plumbing duties, read and interpret blueprints and drawings, understand and apply plumbing codes, follow written and verbal instructions, work in confined spaces, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work at considerable heights, climb and work from ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to respond to after hours and holiday emergency calls as needed. Applicants with experience in preventive maintenance, repairs and installation in large (100,000+ sq. ft.) commercial buildings and/or experience running service calls may be given preference.

A High School Diploma required, or GED supplemented by specialized training in plumbing or a related field, PLUS two years of increasingly responsible plumbing experience.
• Candidates must possess a valid Class "C" driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Must possess a valid State of Texas Journeyman Plumber License.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
