QA/Support Technician

8 hour shifts, M-F 7:30AM-9:00PM and Saturday 8AM-6PM

Summary:

The QA Technician independently analyzes, integrates and validates systems software and hardware solutions. This position requires and applies broad knowledge of the business, its products and processes.

In addition, the QA Technician resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver valuable services. They participate in the evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions that meet customer needs.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

 Analysis and selection of technology required for meeting the needs of customers and the organization, including consulting with end users to determine hardware, software or systems functional specifications.

 Actively participate in the development, testing and deployment of specific client configurations.

 Consistently apply learned processes, procedures and workflows to include, however not limited to, the software and/or hardware environments in one domain.

 Generate new solutions leveraging competent skills and knowledge.

 Solve infrastructure and application problems independently.

 May be a subject matter expert in one or more specializations within a domain.

 Utilize troubleshooting techniques to determine problem root cause and apply knowledge of operational infrastructure to determine business impact.

 Perform system monitoring, daily checks, diagnostic and corrective action, complex root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent future service interruptions.

 Configure, maintain and monitor system infrastructure to enhance service, improve performance and ensure adequate capacity.

 Complete inventory audits.

 Recommend services and products to customers based on independent assessment of customer’s current configuration.

 Assist field technicians with troubleshooting and installation approvals.

 Review installations for finalization and approval.

 Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

 Working knowledge of systems administration and/or systems programming skills

 Working knowledge of Windows OS internals

 Strong software development/scripting skills (.NET, PowerShell, VBScript, etc.)

 Experience with software packaging/software virtualization

 Technical expertise implementing and supporting the full range of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange infrastructure and configuration

 Experience with Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp and XenServer configuration

 Strong firewall, router, and LAN switch experience

 Ability to think and operate as a team player, strong interpersonal skills

 Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to multi-task, can manage and prioritize several projects to meet deadlines

 Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

 Flexible, able to work nights/weekends on occasion
