Job Description

Book Keeper

Cloud ERP software provider / Professional Services company is seeking a senior level accountant to provide all accounting functions in accordance with GAAP by performing all, but not limited to the below:

Position is located in a great on-site location in downtown Tampa. Solid growth opportunity in a friendly, fast-paced environment. On-site position 8:30am - 5:30pm EST Monday - Friday. No telephone inquiries. EOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, priorities and procedures relating to the annual operating budget, accounting, payroll and the preparation of the monthly operating statements (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow).

  • Maintain and gather data for Cash Flow Report daily.

  • Maintain monthly closing schedule

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports conforming to closing schedule.

  • Process invoices and revenue recognition for software license, software maintenance & support fees, and Time & Expense services.

  • Setup and maintain Project Accounting projects and jobs in support of professional services and development activities in accordance with Sales Orders.

  • Process Cash Receipts, Prepare and make bank deposits.

  • Track and record 3rd party software costs

  • Prepare / maintain 3rd party royalty reports.

  • Process and/or oversee Accounts Payable processing.

  • AR collections and maintenance of Accounts Receivable.

  • Maintain backup required to support audits.

  • Provide audit support as needed.

  • Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers (create, enter and post recurring journal entries, e.g., payroll, depreciation, amortized 3rd party costs).

  • Implement / maintain account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Bank accounts, Commissions, etc).

  • Assist with ad hoc requests and reports and other duties as assigned.

  • Monitor staff time reporting, facilitate time approval process and timely posting of time records.

  • Provide support to 3rd party sales tax service as needed.

  • Conduct periodic internal audits to review accounting and administrative controls.

  • Establish system controls for new financial systems if applicable and develop procedures to improve existing systems.

  • Review financial statements with management personnel.

  • Assist in the interviewing, hiring and supervision of additional accounting staff at such time additional staff becomes necessary.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


Bachelor’s degree (B.S. – Accounting) from four-year college or university; plus, a minimum of 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze and understand generally accepted accounting principles, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and customers.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge in Windows environment of Excel, word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, internet software and database software.


Working knowledge of software license, maintenance & support revenue recognition a PLUS.

Experience with Financial Software suites such as Khameleon, MS Dynamics, Oracle, etc., a PLUS.

Position is required to work full-time (8:30am - 5:30pm EST) in our office.
