NOW HIRING!! A-Line is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a Part Time Schedule in Gallipolis, OH. This position offers flexible hours with the requirement to work half-days on Wednesdays and Fridays, with the remaining hours flexible or the option to work full days on those two days. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients, including monitoring chronic conditions, performing routine exams, prescribing treatments, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.


Job Title: Part-Time Nurse Practitioner

Location: Gallipolis, OH
Hours: 8a-4:30p, 16 hours per week (Flexible scheduling with required half-day availability on Wednesdays and Fridays)


Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This position is ideal for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who thrives in a dynamic, supportive environment and is committed to making a positive impact on patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care & Treatment:

    • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans within the scope of your licensure.
    • Monitor patient progress, particularly those with chronic illnesses, and make necessary interventions.
    • Conduct routine physical exams to assess chronic conditions and diagnose new issues.
    • Evaluate acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and provide treatment as necessary.
    • Manage discharge planning and follow-up care for patients with chronic or complex medical needs, including inmates, youth, or other populations in institutional settings.
    • Perform minor surgeries as appropriate and within your training and competency.
    • Evaluate the need for referral consultations and coordinate with specialists both within and outside of the facility.
    • Order and review diagnostic tests, including lab work, x-rays, and other assessments.
    • Administer vaccinations and inoculations as needed to prevent communicable diseases.
  2. Medical Documentation & Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with agency guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
    • Document patient interviews, assessments, diagnostic impressions, and treatment plans.
    • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or equivalent to ensure medical quality oversight.
  3. Clinical Supervision & Team Leadership:

    • Provide clinical direction and supervision to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, phlebotomists, and other healthcare staff.
    • Offer guidance and support to team members to ensure high standards of patient care.
  4. Professional Development & Collaboration:

    • Participate in professional meetings, quality improvement activities, and clinical committees as required by institutional leadership.
    • Attend monthly meetings for continuous quality improvement and quarterly medical meetings.
    • Serve as a clinical resource for patients and their families, offering advice on health maintenance, promotion, and identifying potential health risks.
    • Engage in professional development opportunities, including in-service training and continuing education related to nursing practice.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner licensure (Family, Adult, or relevant specialty).
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in an institutional or correctional healthcare setting.
  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Strong clinical skills, including experience with physical examinations, diagnostic assessments, and treatment plans.
    • Proficiency in using medical equipment (e.g., stethoscope, BP cuff, EKG, surgical tools).
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy laws.
    • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Comfortable working in an institutional or correctional environment.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • CPR certification
