Exp. F/T Director of Donor / Fundraising Development North Side of Chicago

A thriving, rapidly growing, Non-For-Profit, FQHC Look-Alike dedicated to providing high-quality medical, mental health, and dental care to the communities in the Chicagoland area is seeking to hire a Director of Fundraising Development to lead and execute our fundraising/donor efforts. This role is ideal for someone with a talent for building strong meaningful donor relationships and securing major gifts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, encompassing annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns.
  • Design strategies to attract and retain donors, ensuring adherence to fundraising schedules and goals.
  • Cultivate and Steward Relationships:
    • Build and maintain strong connections with donors, volunteers, corporations, and foundations.
    • Lead efforts to secure gifts and facility or program sponsorships, including naming opportunities.
  • Donor Communications and Materials:
    • Draft and manage development-related materials such as newsletters, appeals, campaign collateral, proposals, and reports.
  • Database Management and Reporting:
    • Oversee donor databases and collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate records and reporting of fundraising activities.
  • Grants and Prospect Research:
    • Identify grant opportunities and manage the full grant lifecycle, from research and proposal writing to reporting.

Job Qualification Requirements

  • Strong preference for CFRE Certification
  • 5+ years of proven experience in donor cultivation, stewardship, strategic planning, and campaign management.
  • Demonstrated success in securing gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Expertise in grant writing and in winning grants appropriate for health centers.
  • Experience with major campaigns (capital campaign experience preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a people-first mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software.
