Job Description Position: Welder Shift: Split Hours:12:00-8:30pm Type: Full-Time Mode: Direct Placement/Temp to hire Industry: Manufacturing Pay: $26-30/hr Our client is looking for a responsible Welder. This is a Direct Placement / Temp to hire with our key manufacturing client. To be considered for this role, you will need an High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required and a minimum of 3 years experience in Aerospace Welding. Principle Duties: * Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal. * Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements. * Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions * using complicated weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable) * Dimensional inspects welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges. * Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels * Work outside department as required, primarily in belt and hand grinding * Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times * Follow all safety guidelines and wears all Personal Protective Equipment * Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. * Weld production parts as well as developing new jobs * Participate in creating designs to best establish tooling and parts processing methods * Document detailed weld schedules and process sheets * Lend tooling, fixturing and process knowledge expertise to production jobs in an effort to increase efficiency * Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs. Requirements * High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required * Minimum of 5 years experience in Aerospace Welding * 5 years of solid general computer skills required, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel in particular, being proficient in math skills required * Must be able to design and build complex fixtures as needed. * Must be able to consistently hold tight tolerances up to +/- .005" Must be able to pass required welding certifications (AWS D17.1) as needed. * 1 year of basic welding and metallurgy required * Read, interpret, and process to work instructions * Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopes * Capable of operating computer-controlled machines and making program adjustments as required * Cut, polish, etch and evaluate pre-weld acceptance samples, quarterly process control samples, and filament change control samples * Complete logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork for each job performed * Support Welding Engineers in development of process schedules * Excellent written and verbal communication skill * Strong written and verbal communication skills BestLogic Staffing (BLS) is a Top Staffing Firm that's partnered with some of the largest names in various industries.
