Investment Banking Analyst - Distressed M&A

SC&H Group Ellicott City, MD (Onsite) Full-Time
SC&H Capital is currently recruiting for a top-notch Investment Banking Analyst to join our growing practice in our Ellicott City office. SC&H Capital is a middle market focused Investment Bank delivering M&A advisory services to businesses throughout their entire lifecycle, provided by professionals who are experts in buying, growing and selling businesses. Our professionals focus on consistently providing insightful and timely advice and delivering effective outcomes everyday- not just on the day they sell.

As part of our team you will:

  • Provide analytical support, including research, financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Write and design effective communication pieces for client engagements including confidential information memorandums and pitch materials
  • Design, develop and maintain data sets and analytic models
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments and/or other guidance relevant to the client engagements
  • Prepare marketing materials for prospective client meetings
  • Interact with clients as a key member of an engagement team
  • Display teamwork, integrity, leadership and initiative
Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration Undergrad GPA of at least 3.5
  • 1-3 years direct experience in investment banking, or potentially one or more of the following areas with exposure to M&A: public accounting, valuation, or finance
  • Excellent project management, verbal communication and business writing skills
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent financial and quantitative skills
  • Strong knowledge in financial accounting, including an understanding of a balance sheet and income statement and general accounting principles
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to develop integrated, dynamic three-statement financial models
  • Understanding of valuation principles and finance concepts
  • Ability to build slides using Microsoft Powerpoint
