Pharmaceutical Care Pharmacist

Overview
Needs to be flexible to work any pharmacy shift 6am-11pm weekdays and 8am-4pm weekends.3-6 evening Shifts per month, Every 4th weekend. Responsible for providing pharmaceutical care, working closely with other healthcare professionals, to ensure safe and accurate medication distribution and administration. Provides consultative/clinical services to the members of the assigned unit. Responsible for adhering to and practicing within the guidelines of Georgia State Pharmacy Law.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilites and Essential Functions
Knowledge of drug appropriateness * Evaluating and monitoring drug regimens for appropriateness. * Interpreting physician’s orders and screening them for various types of interactions. * Providing patient and nursing education when requested.
General Pharmacy Practice * Preparing IV Admixtures, compounding, and repackaging a wide variety of pharmaceuticals * Entering and verifying orders into the pharmacy computer system, and proper dispensing of medications * Making appropriate therapy and dosing adjustments per consult or policy provisions
Education Skills * Providing supervision and guidance to all personnel working in their area * Demonstrating skill and competency in patient assessment, and providing patient and nursing education when requested.

Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education
B.S. from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Required
Required Minimum Experience
Hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
Required Minimum Skills
Strong order entry and computer skills.
Good oral communication skills.
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)
Reg Pharmacist 1.00 Required 1.00
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Licensed by, and in good standing with, the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy Required
