Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Scientist, Software Engineer – a technical leader who will daily guide, mentor, and partner with the software engineering team members to develop, maintain, test, and integrate innovative software solutions in development, integration, and target environments.
Essential Functions:
- Design, implement, and integrate software
- Investigate and resolve defects
- Evaluate change requests from stakeholders
- Research new software concepts
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
- OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 8+ years of software development with an object-oriented programming language (C++, Java, Python)
- 8+ years of professional experience with a software development process (Agile, Iterative, etc.)
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Ability to ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
- Ability to prepare and produce releases of software components
- Ability to support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
- Ability to learn new things quickly and rapidly prototype
- Ability to provide leadership for a program or product
- Linux System Experience (Shell scripting, RHEL/CentOS/Rocky administration, Kickstarts)
- Programming Experience
- Multi-threaded Java, C++, or Python
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
- Experience with user interface design, database structures and statistical analyses
- Network socket programming
- Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework
- Project, Build, Package Management Experience (Git, SVN Maven, NPM, Docker)
- Knowledge of DoD Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and technologies
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) certifications (e.g. SSM, SPO, SPM, etc.) or Scrum Master Certifications
- Knowledge of RC-135 Mission Systems Operations
- Soft Skills and Attitude
- Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting scope
- Ability to lead in team environments
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization including Director and above as well as across multiple functional disciplines
- Ability to work in a teaming community
This position requires an ACTIVE Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
