POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Assembly/ Field Service Technician provides mechanical support for the Controls shop and Aftermarket and Field Services teams. Position requires mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical knowledge. May provide support to multiple leaders departments and/or teams.

Principal Activities

Safe practices are the number one priority.

Daily safety toolbox meetings.

Responsible for assembling and handling products, equipment and materials per engineering and company's quality system procedures.

Follow company procedures for corrective action. Notify Production supervisor if a quality defect or safety concern is identified to obtain guidance and assistance in resolving the problem.

Analyze problems and support the team in carrying out the resolution

Read and comprehend general assembly drawings

Use and maintain hand tools, electric and pneumatic

Identify all parts used during assembly.

Mechanical & hydraulic assemblies (Actuator, Hydraulic Power Unit’s, Purge Panels, etc..)

Must be capable or willing to learn basic instrumentation installation and calibration practices. (transmitters, switches, relays, valve controllers, etc..)

Support and coordinate activities within all areas of the Aftermarket team including Engineering, Field Service, Quality Control, Purchasing, Shipping, etc.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Perform daily housekeeping tasks.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Mechanical working knowledge of valves, actuators, hydraulic power units and associated equipment in the Oil & Gas Industry

Good customer service, analytical, reasoning, and independent thinking skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Sound ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization, both internal and external

Able to work in a proactive, organized, and independent manner

Exercise discretion and apply common sense in carrying out assigned tasks and problem solving

Ability to calmly handle complex problems and work them through to a resolution

Education & Experience

Requires high school diploma or equivalent

5+ years’ related experience in the Oil& Gas Industry preferred

Experience with various hand tools and rigging equipment
