Senior Project Accountant
Huntington Beach, CA (Onsite)
Full-Time
Company seeks to hire a Senior Project Accountant who will assist the Project Management Team with managing job set up, job cost, billings, purchase orders and subcontracts for their projects.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Project setup including detailed budget review, change orders and cost code set up.
Monthly job forecasting and reporting as needed.
Prepare journal entries and budget revisions.
Attend quarterly cost to complete meetings - on/offsite
Attend CTC meetings for Jr. Project Accountants & Project Accountants as needed.
Take a leadership role in the CTC process.
Review subcontract commitments and change orders.
Process subcontractor invoices and initiate payments.
Maintain schedule of values and submit client billings.
Set up GMP sheets and assist others as needed.
Monitor cash flow and collections including billing projections.
Involvement in quarterly close procedures.
Assist with quarterly WIP input as needed.
Assist with year-end audit.
Track subcontract and vendor prelims and request lien releases as needed.
Assist with training inside and outside of department.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business from an accredited university.
Minimum 5 years Job Cost experience preferably in construction industry.
Strong understanding of accounting rules and procedures.
Advanced Microsoft skills including Excel.
Vlookup, pivot tables, etc.
Ability to manage assignments from inception to completion.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
