Job Description

Join BAE Systems' Intelligence and Security Sector and be part of an agile team that enables our employees to support our customers and their missions. As a Configuration Manager, you will support the planning of and coordination/preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews contract and customer requirements to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control.

The Configuration Manager is responsible for configuration management (CM) operational systems. Works on an operational team to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting operational systems. Uses or recommends automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system. Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Perform change control and configuration audits instrumental in providing support for all aspects of system development, from analysis of mission needs to the verification of system performance. You will have the opportunity to perform evaluations of system alternatives, assessing the risks and costs to solve some of the world's most complex IT challenges.

Note: Must hold and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI CI Polygraph.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma / GED & 8 yrs, Associates & 6 yrs, Bachelors & 4 yrs

  • Security ce or higher DoD 8570 certification

Candidates Shall Possess The Following

  • Understand basic concepts, assist in maintaining and developing the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration

  • Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures; such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process

  • Utilize configuration management tools (e.g. SNOW, DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration items

  • Maintain the CM environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration

  • Develop hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures and ensure that they are followed on hardware and software development projects

  • Apply concepts and define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrate those scripts with the hardware and software build process

  • Six (6) years experience as a CM in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Note: Must have an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferred:

  • Visio familiarity/expertise is desired.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university or four (4) years of additional configuration management experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

  • One (1) year of experience using a source code control system for a program of similar scope and complexity is desired.
