Participate as a member of the EEG Department by performing routine EEGs, video EEG monitoring and continuous EEG monitoring. Both inpatient and outpatient settings, including nursing floors, emergency department and intensive care units.

Administer tests.

Always measures and marks patients head and eliminates artifact to ensure quality. Performs tests to meet professional standards and/or other regulatory needs to include impedance checks. Contact appropriate personnel when issues arise. Properly use photic and hyperventilation. Use video monitoring

Maintains EEG equipment.

Perform calibrations to ensure equipment readiness and accuracy. Troubleshoot to resolve equipment issues.

Prepares test reports and maintains test data.

Obtain patient history to include medications and pertinent data to patient background. Take ownership to ensure charges are captured in a timely manner. Archive data monthly. Complete reports and archive studies to ensure optimal testing speed.

Maintains departmental supplies and cleanliness of environment.

Ensure best cleaning practices are used for infection prevention..

Performs other department tasks to meet departmental needs.

Educate others on EEG?s, rhythms, long-term monitoring or other EEG modalities

EDUCATION:

Required:

Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics; or a combination of education and experience
