Lead Software Engineer - Blue Yonder

Lowe's Charlotte, NC (Onsite) Full-Time

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide consultation and technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs. This includes facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. This role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. In addition, this role personally develops and delivers code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolves complex problems spanning multiple applications to drive improvements across portfolios; leads projects with significant business implications, participates in planning and priority estimates, and advises Software Engineers; executes with limited guidance

  • Leads development of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions to ensure specifications are flexible, scalable, and maintainable and meet architectural standards

  • Educates others on current architectural standards and guidelines to drive efficiency when leading the design efforts of complex business and enterprise software solutions

  • Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for large, complex, cross-functional application initiatives by providing insight to testing teams in order to ensure the appropriate depth of test coverage

  • Mentors and advises others in all software development lifecycle phases by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls

  • Communicates changes in software architecture and coaches others to apply this understanding to software solutions; resolves escalated issues

  • Leads efforts to improve engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices

  • Solves complex cross-functional architecture/design and business problems; solutions are extensible; works to simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks, etc.

  • Mentors and advises others, sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)

  • 7 years of experience in software development or a related field

  • 6 years of experience in database technologies

  • 6 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field

Technical Knowledge (8 - 10 years’ experience specifically in Blue Yonder WMS):

  • Knowledge of Operating Systems – Windows, Linux

  • Must have strong MOCA technical knowledge and experience writing code that supports the MOCA Framework

  • Experience in design of Blue Yonder (BY) WMS Integrator structure and backend code base for Inbound and Outbound integrations

  • Must have strong knowledge of MOCA architecture and knowledge of the various sub systems of BY WMS including Labeling and EMS

  • Must have strong hands-on experience with building Custom Web Pages with Pagebuilder/DDAs

  • Must have strong hands-on experience developing custom reports in Jasper

  • Should have experience in setting up configurations of BY WMS for new warehouses

  • Must have experience in writing advanced SQL commands and performance related fine tuning

  • Strongly preferred to have – C, C++, Java, Full Stack technical knowledge/experience

  • Must have knowledge of any automated test framework (i.e. – Cucumber)

  • Must have knowledge of DEVOPS for building CI/CD pipelines

  • Must have knowledge and experience using JIRA and GIT

  • Intermediate understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Azure

Business Knowledge (8 - 10 years’ experience):

  • Strong understanding of supply chain concepts

  • Strong understanding of distribution concepts

  • Highly detailed working knowledge of warehouse management processes

  • Inbound Processing

  • Outbound Processing

  • Inventory Management

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain solution ecosystems (i.e. – Order Management Systems, Inventory Systems, Planning, and Transportation Management Systems)

Leadership Skills (5 - 7 years’ experience):

  • Leading teams (internal and external resources)

  • Responsible for code management of the team

  • Managing and delivering highly timebound assignments

  • Leading meetings with business users / managers

  • Working with 3rd party vendors

  • Driving resolution of reported issues

  • Strong organizational and work management skills

  • Driving resolution of production issues

  • Work with the business on maintenance and enhancements

  • Oversee design, quality, and successful implementations of changes

  • Manage work for the team

  • Develop a strong relationship with Bangalore team members to maximize the level of productivity for all team members
