POSITION TITLE: PODCASTING TRAINER
REPORTS TO: IREX Program Representative
LOCATION: International, Remote (IREX may require that certain training assignments be conducted in-person in Turkey).
IREX is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to building a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world by empowering youth, cultivating leaders, strengthening institutions, and extending access to quality education and information.
IREX is seeking a PODCASTING TRAINER to design and deliver a series of workshops and courses for Syrian media partners through IREX’s Supporting Independent Media in Syria II (SIMS-II) program. IREX has several partners (radio, TV and online) that produce Arabic-language broadcasts, including current affairs and news programs, to Syrian audiences.
The trainer will work with the partner organization to establish a consistent presentation style and format for their podcast operation. It should give the team the skills and understanding of podcast formats to engage audiences and to create a unique sound for their digital and online audio content. The workshops will address podcast presentation, production, and distribution. The training will be carried out remotely.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing a podcast training program and workshop.
- Delivering a podcast training program and workshop.
- Creating a consistent podcast sound and strategy for the partner.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum five years’ professional podcasting experience, preferably with a news or current affairs background.
- Excellent training and communication skills.
- Experience of working in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) geographic region preferred.
- Demonstrable experience as a trainer and consultant.
- Native Arabic language skills required.
