Project Manager - Engineer

Houston, TX (Onsite) Full-Time
Clayton Services is searching for a Project Engineer - Offshore to join a thriving company in West Houston. The Project Engineer - Offshore is a client-facing role and will be responsible for working closely with the Senior Project Manager and leading/delivering project results and updates to the client.

Job Type: Direct-Hire
Pay Rate: $120,000 - $145,000/year
Schedule: Hybrid - Remote Mondays & Fridays; In-Office on Tuesdays - Thursdays; some travel needed to go on project sites

Project Engineer - Offshore Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the collection and dissemination of technical information within the company, the owner, and the subcontractors.
  • Promoting and supporting interdisciplinary coordination and communicating with project team members.
  • Participating in the planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects and Project Management Plan reviews.
  • Interfacing with clients on a regular basis, including active participation in key client reviews and meetings as required.
  • Providing notification of any potential commercial risk or opportunity to the Project Manager for further action.
  • Identifying areas of concern, recommending corrective actions wherever required, and executing when directed by the client.
  • Providing overall project coordination and engineering oversight on assigned projects.
  • Developing the requests for information, submittal packages, and other correspondence with the client to assist project progression.
  • Providing technical expertise on offshore project engineering and management, including functional layouts, optimization, and operability.
  • Monitoring QA/QC of the project and coordinating with others as needed to resolve any design or process issues.
  • Reviewing quotes utilizing supplier information, cost standards, and technical information from quality, manufacturing, engineering, and design.
Project Engineer - Offshore Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering, design, and construction of offshore facilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to plan, prioritize and monitor activities across disciplines 
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of project scheduling and estimating
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong MS Project capabilities and experience
  • Recent project engineering management experience in an engineering firm
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 software
Project Engineer - Offshore Education and Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of engineering experience working as a Project Manager on multiple projects in the offshore Oil & Gas industry
  • Bachelor of Science in Process, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
  • P.E. License preferred
  • Experience with individual project sizes of $1M or greater
