Paralegal

We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Paralegal to play an important role on our fast-paced, collaborative legal team. You'll draft legal documents for unlawful detainer work as well as prepare briefs, file paperwork, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities:
Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
• Unlawful detainer experience preferred but not required
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
• Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client services, including problem-solving
• Knowledge of computer office programs, legal software, and telephones
• Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately regarding complex situations and tasks
• Ability to utilize independent reason and problem-solving skills with limited oversight in order to make accurate decisions
• Ability to follow instructions and utilize problem-solving skills in order to meet crucial deadlines
• Strong ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment
Preferred:
• Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations. Knowledge of Civil Procedure
• Familiarity/knowledge of landlord-tenant laws
• Unlawful detainer experience
