Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst manages the credit exposures of a Cargill Business Group by handling the largest, most complex accounts, maximizing opportunity while controlling risk using experience and risk-adjusted return calculations. In this role you will analyse the Business Group's credit exposures from various angles. You will establish relationships to be able to guide decisions within the company's values and expectations, and structure risk mitigation or risk transfer solutions to assure maximization of business returns for a given level of risk. You will also support the Enterprise Credit Lead in making continuous progress on the Risk Management Group strategic credit priorities.
Key Accountabilities
• Performs the most complex credit risk work activities, independently managing customer portfolios with the highest customer risk by using advanced knowledge, approving limits of the highest relative value. Identifies issues and assist with investigations of credit exposures.
• Provide credit advice and structuring solutions to commercial team in order to optimize risk/reward on deals.
• Independently conducts credit-related analysis and interpretation requiring a deep understanding of counterpart's financial positions, thorough knowledge of the risk associated to the different contracts, and Accounts Receivable practices and procedures. Also performs industry analysis and analyzes the impact on the portfolio.
• Identifies and analyses potential sources of loss to minimize risk and estimate the potential financial consequences of a loss.
• Prepare and support other analysts in the preparation and distribution of defined credit risk reports. Review recommended credit requests for approval consideration within delegated authority.
• Connects all business stakeholders to present a company voice to the client and drives the business approach to managing client risk.
• Communicates issues in an independent and timely manner with appropriate internal and external partners and is the key point of contact for the business.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Desire to develop and implement new credit strategies that support the business growth.
• Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of four years of related work experience
• Experience working with a global matrixed company.
• Experience managing a customer portfolio with a high-risk tolerance.
• Ability to travel a 30% of the time Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in Finance, Economics or Math
• Strong quantitative and analytical competency
