FULL-TIME ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE MANAGER

Aston Carter Kirkland, WA (On Site) Full-Time

Description:

•The Accounting & Finance Manager will support the CFO and other members of the senior management team on matters pertaining to Accounting, Finance, Planning, Reporting, Financial Systems and Operations

•This individual will be required to interact with all levels of the internal team and will represent the company in collaborations with several third parties

•These interactions will require a strong degree of technical skills and business operations knowledge, so that mutually beneficial solutions are achieved, while maintaining productive relationships

•The Accounting and Finance Manager will proactively identify opportunities to make process improvements, enhance infrastructure and controls, and will provide feedback and guidance to the senior management team on an ongoing basis

•Leads all aspects of day-to-day accounting and recording in QuickBooks

•Leads monthly close process and produces monthly/quarterly financial statements

•Manages small staff

•Responsible for overseeing accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP

•Lead and coordinate research and development accrual process and record and maintain clinical (CRO) and preclinical accrual reconciliations with the highest degree of accuracy

•Coordinate with various departments and maintain fixed asset records

•Accountable for the preparation of quarter/month-end financial reports and issuing them to appropriate personnel in a timely manner

•Prepare monthly/quarterly comprehensive fluctuation analysis for BS, P&L, and Cashflow statements

•Administers and operates financial systems e.g., financial system (Quick Books), payroll (Bamboo), expense reporting, bank interfaces (Bank America Cash Pro),stock and option ledger (Carta)

•Accounts Payable---Manages issuance of payments to vendors consistent with purchase orders and performance against contracts

•Performs periodic reconciliations

Preferred experience:

  • 5/10 of experience in accounting/finance
  • Biotech experience is big plus
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • SOX knowledge and experience
  • ASC 842 experience
  • IPO implementation experience, company is IPO ready
  • ERP implementation (switching to Netsuite or MS Dynamics)
  • Experience with Stock Option plans
  • Experience setting internal controls
  • Supervisory experience
  • Advanced level skill with QuickBooks and ERP to be deployed in 2023, intermediate level skill with Excel
  • Experience effectively interacting with all levels of management and multiple functional areas to provide support, identify and achieve consensus for changes, and ensure compliance, without direct authority
  • Self-starter, organized, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, hands-on
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
