Job Description

Job Title: Management Trainee

Normally Reports to: Branch General Manager and Operations Manager

Job Objective: Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Entrepreneurial type college students who are seeking a professional long-term career to start as Trainees in the fields of Sales, Operations or Finance.

Trainee Program:

  • An 18-24 month program designed to educate and develop talented trainees needed for both branch and regional growth initiatives.
  • Once onboard, new associates start in a location where they complete a training program designed to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in their particular field of interest.

Curriculum at a Glance:

  • Most of the trainees time will be spent working in the warehouse learning products, processes and how the business functions on a day to day basis.
  • Associates will be expected to ride along with a driver and/or sales rep a minimum of once a month.
  • Spend time as directed by mgmt. with branch personnel to generally understand different departments, roles and job functions.
  • All associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location, size and operations.

  • Vision: minimum vision required to prevent injury from oneself and others
  • Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds with or without correction
  • Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Lifting small weighed objects constantly; 20 pound objects frequently and 20-50 pound objects occasionally
  • Climbing ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Balancing, pushing and pulling
  • Crouching, kneeling, reaching and grasping objects
  • Walking: move about inside the office and/or branch facilities as well as airport/travel needs
  • Sit/Stand: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time
  • Capable of traveling as required

Attendance Requirements: Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory, including arriving at the time as scheduled
