We are looking to hire litigation paralegals to assist our trial lawyers. Applicants must be well-versed in California laws relating to civil procedure, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. Applicants will be assigned to a small team of lawyers (2-3) and will be required to manage and prioritize time-sensitive tasks on many different cases simultaneously. Teamwork and communication skills are essential. It is imperative that applicants are organized and efficient to complete multiple assignments in a timely manner. Responsibilities: • Assist with responding to discovery requests and working as a team member with attorneys • Plan and set depositions in-office and over internet platforms like Zoom • Prepare mediation briefs and mandatory settlement conference statements • Prepare some motions to compel compliance with discovery • Summarize responses to written discovery including medical records obtained by subpoena • Plan and prepare for jury trials • Attend jury trials to assist trial lawyers during trial Qualifications: • Paralegal experience, paralegal certificate; or a minimum of 3 years of experience doing paralegal litigation tasks • Clio case management software (preferred) • Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Explorer, PowerPoint, and Excel (required) • Internet: Firefox, Chrome, and Explorer (required) • Adobe (required) About Company: Friedenthal, Heffernan & Brown, LLP is managed by experienced and talented trial lawyers.
