Location: Dearborn, MI (Day 1 Onsite)
Job Type: 6-12+ month Contract

Job Description:
As a Systems Engineer within the Systems Engineering and Validation Organization, you will have the responsibility of leading complex engineering projects leveraging your expertise in Systems Engineering, SYSML and SAFe Methodology to create, design, model and verify next generation customer features. In this role, you will lead the development of innovative software features, and supporting vehicle hardware, from conception to system release. You will interface with cross functional teams to ensure our next generation features are designed to handle customer use cases of today and of tomorrow. Our goal is to go beyond existing solutions and deliver unmet customer needs and wants and staff our team with innovative engineers to join our team.
As member of the Systems team, you will work with system architects, platform systems engineers, ECU Owners, Software Developers and Testers to development feature requirements, manage feature change requests, verify and validate, identify risks for delivery and effectively communicate to stakeholders at various levels within the company. Many new Features will continue to push the envelope of emerging technology and increasingly leverage data insights, advanced controls and machine learning capabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Planning and Strategy team to support new feature demand.
  • Development Business Cases to support new feature requests, leveraging data analytics and insights from our fully connected vehicle infrastructure where appropriate.
  • Define technical solutions using SYSML.
  • Utilize Systems V and SAFe Methodology to further develop and execute features on next generation architectures.
  • Manage/Lead SW development and implementation of core specifications by working with SW development teams.
  • Ensure Feature development meets key program/project milestones and deliverables.
  • Evaluate incoming features requests and identify future resource needs based on requests.
  • Work with software development partners/team members on planning, execution, release; including the development of new software algorithms required across multiple electronic modules.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing complex multi-module systems of hardware and software.
  • Experience in software development including algorithm specification or coding for mass production environments (embedded and/or Cloud)
  • Experience in Hardware (Sensor, electronic module, actuator) development.
  • Core Engineering Disciplines: DFMEA, P-Diagram, Boundary Diagrams, FuSa, Electronic Architectures
  • Passion to create, design and deliver new features and systems to the industry.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent skills and expertise.
  • 3+ Years of Experience in SYSML, Simulation
  • Expertise in SAFe Methodology
  • Experience in User/Customer Experiences
  • Experience with world automotive regulations, customer ratings, industry practices and benchmarking.
