We are currently searching for an experienced Traffic or Senior Traffic Engineer to support our Mid-Atlantic Region located in Springfield, Washington DC, Virginia Beach, VA, or Columbia, MD. This position is a hybrid position.

The successful candidate will work on challenging and complex transportation projects. The successful candidate will gain experience and receive mentorship under the supervision of Project Managers and will work in all facets of transportation engineering and planning. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary team and assist in completing various traffic engineering tasks. What youll be doing:

• Conduct traffic analyses in support of interchange and corridor improvement studies
• Perform intersection capacity analyses and prepare signal timing plans
• Conduct signal warrant studies, speed studies and other traffic engineering tasks
• Conduct safety analysis tasks supporting Vision Zero programs
• Assist in preparing traffic design plans supporting highway design projects
• Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, engineering reports

What you need to have:

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 4 - 10 years of traffic engineering experience
• EIT is required
• PE, PTOE is preferred
• Proficient in traffic simulation packages such as VISSIM
• Proficient in traffic analyses software such as Synchro, Sidra, HCS
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with Microstation or AutoCAD is a MUST
• Familiarity with GIS is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written

• Familiarity with VDOT, DDOT or MDSHA standards
