Ideal candidates will be located in Boston, Foxboro, Jamaica Plain, or Waltham, MA.Field Service Team Leads are responsible for managing and developing the Field Service Team that supports the Surgi-Care Branch while driving profitability of the Surgi-Care service model and portfolio of accounts in his/her assigned geography. This position also oversees and evaluates staff to ensure orthotic devices provided to clients are safely and correctly set-up and/or fitted, properly documented, and that patients are accurately evaluated, measured, fitted, and educated on the safe and appropriate use of orthotic devices.JOB



RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and ManagementProvides mentorship, guidance, and leadership needed to instill a team-oriented and results-driven team.Conducts routine conference calls, team meetings, and one-on-one meetings with team as necessary to drive business goals.Performs functional supervision including staff scheduling, hiring, performance evaluations, and terminations. Leads staff performance management activities to improve capabilities and skills using regular objective setting and review processes, performing appraisals, and coaching of individuals on development plans.Responsible for effectively managing the activities of direct reports and ensuring the organization’s abilities continue to improve through individual development and developing talent throughout the organization.Provides effective guidance and support to team members to ensure proper deployment of training, progression, compliance, and optimization of the territory. Business and Financial MetricsResponsible for analyzing, managing, communicating, and reporting out to the Surgi-Care Branch on key performance metrics to drive profitability and compliance with regulatory and DJO requirements.Works closely with the Surgi-Care Sales Teams and Surgi-Care Management to support new account development, launch, and project planning, and creates executable actions for implementation or “go-live” of programs at customer sites.Clinical and Account SupportEducates clients on the proper use and care of orthopedic equipment and bracing devices.Assists in resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.Evaluates, measures, and fits orthotic devices for customers.Participates in ongoing training and in-service events on current and new products.Provides patient care in a variety of settings, including physician offices, hospitals, Surgi-Care offices, and/or patient homes.Collaborates with internal teams on patient care, scheduling, etc.Resolves customer issues by working directly with internal resources and/or the customer.Continuing EducationKeeps current on all relevant certifications, including ATC licensure and CFo certification(s).Participates in and leads product training.Works with various manufacturers related to training and development on products.Attends approved seminars, workshops, and convention exhibit activities.Maintains product and professional skills competence through training and other available means.Participates in continuing education seminars and refresher product/instrumentation trainings on a periodic basis.Represents the Company at trade shows and association meetings.Develops and maintains professional and technical knowledge by staying current on relevant Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Home Medical Equipment (HME) orthopedic products and services offered by both DJO and Surgi-Care.ComplianceAssists with implementation of quality improvement program to meet Surgi-Care Inc., DJO, state, federal, and accreditation standards.Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all applicable governmental regulations.Adheres to all internal Office of Global Compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as OIG and government program (e.g., Medicare) regulations.Works closely with DJO’s Office of Global Corporate Compliance to educate field personnel on applicable policies, procedures, and government regulations.Treats Protected Health Information (PHI) with the strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS

EducationBachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, required.Holds certification with appropriate state regulatory agency preferred. Includes American Board for Certification (ABC) Certified Fitter-orthotics (CFo), Orthotic Fitter, Physical Therapy Certification, Orthopedic Technology Certification, or related.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of operational experience in the orthopedic industry required.Minimum of 2 years of experience fitting orthotic devices required. Previous experience effectively managing people strongly preferred. Experience leading remote teams and/or teams spanning multiple locations strongly preferred.Strong understanding of DMEPOS business strategies and drivers.Understanding of field service roles and process, especially as it relates to physician practices and hospitals.Previous experience with inventory management programs and/or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems a plus.Experience and knowledge of insurance reimbursement/DMEPOS billing requirements strongly preferred.Knowledge of healthcare industry, payer relations, and functional compliance with regulations and standards strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence key stakeholders, both internal and external. Demonstrated ability to advocate for customer perspectives while simultaneously balancing organizational needs, objectives, and constraints. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain heavy workload in fast paced environment.This position may be required to fit patients in-home is, and therefore candidates should be aware of as well as comfortable with this requirement.OtherMust possess a valid Driver’s License and current automobile insurance.Must satisfy third-party credentialing/screening requirements to gain access to hospital accounts.TRAVELMust be able to travel up to 75% of the time.Considerable time spent traveling in car.Typical work-related travel assignments range 1-5 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required.May require air travel on occasional basis.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDSField based (i.e., physician’s offices, hospitals, home office, etc.).The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
