Summary

The Business Development team within NYPA Development drives growth through the origination and development of utility scale asset opportunities in the areas of renewable energy, energy storage, and transmission. The Business Development team is responsible for advancing some of NYPA’s most strategically important projects and supporting the achievement of New York’s ambitious clean energy goals. NYPA Development seeks a new team member willing to learn, adapt, and grow; while helping to create an innovative and cutting edge asset base of renewable energy supporting investments.The Business Development Analyst position is envisioned to focus primarily on renewable energy, transmission and energy storage development within New York State. #LI-CJ1



Responsibilities

Perform financial, economic, and statistical analysis to support the assessment of business opportunitiesManagement of developed projects through implementationCo-author business cases for new opportunities including the commercial model, alignment with policy, and identification of key risksPrepare presentations for senior management proposing business opportunities and providing updates on projects in progressSupport senior Business Development management in negotiations on new opportunitiesContribute to interdisciplinary project teams to perform due diligence and/or develop new business opportunitiesSupport transmission planning and production cost modeling studies to inform business opportunitiesAct as a liaison between Business Development and internal stakeholders in the development and execution of projectsCoordinate with and manage cross functional teams consisting of various disciplines for projectsLiaise with external parties including developers, NYISO, NYSERDA, and regulatory agenciesPrepare monthly reports on projects and stakeholder activitiesParticipate in industry events, trainings, and conferences as neededPerform other duties as requested by senior Business Development managementKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesUnderstanding of business and financial concepts Knowledge of project management practices and conceptsExcellent writing skills with ability to summarize analysisSolid verbal communication skills including oral presentationAbility to work independently on assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlinesOrganization skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and external organizations from various disciplines and cultural backgrounds Knowledge and understanding of the NYISO market and the broader energy industryFamiliarity with New York’s clean energy goals, including the Clean Energy Standard, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), and the Accelerated Renewable Energy Growth and Community Benefit ActProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPointEducation, Experience and CertificationsBachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical field is requiredMinimum 4 years of experience in the energy industryMinimum 3 years of project management experiencePhysical



Requirements

Salary offered will be determined based the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
