Electrical Design Engineer

Gus Perdikakis Associates Columbus, OH Full-Time
Are you a recent graduate of a two or four year Electrical Engineering, EET or CAD degree?  Do you enjoy seeing how things work from the inside out?  If so, you should consider joining the team as an Electrical Design Engineer!
The Electrical Design Engineer will work as part of the engineering design team to develop new designs and improve current designs of electronic components and PCBs. You will get experience in all stages of the electronics design and manufacturing process, from concept through production.  The Electrical Design Engineer must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and circuit board layouts.  The ideal candidate will have at least a year or more of experience (co-op / internships will be considered) in electrical, electronics, embedded firmware, or component design.  Knowledge or experience with C language programming is a plus.

Salary Range: $50,000 to $80,000 (based on your experience level) + a robust benefits package

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design new electronic products and assist in the continous improvement of existing electronic products
  • Evaluate the cost, efficiency and reliability of parts
  • Apply and grow you knowledge of electronics design concepts, best practices, and procedures
  • Participate in product design reviews
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote product quality, production efficiency, cost reduction and increase client satisfaction
  • Participate in field failure analysis and continuous product improvement efforts
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, CAD design or similar
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience from co-ops, internships and work in the industry
  • Prior experience using AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, Altium or other CAD software
  • Candidates with two year degree and at least 2-3 years of industry work experience will be considered as well
