English Meadows Senior Living is a locally owned company providing excellent care to our wonderful Residents. We are passionate about assisted living and ensure each of our Caregivers looks forward to the day just as much as our Residents in our communities.

 

We are looking for a compassionate, caring, and experienced Director of Nursing to join our family of Caregivers. As a DON, you will have the ability to be surrounded by amazing Residents daily and will develop a collaborative workplace with attention to quality care for our Residents. The DON is responsible for the daily functioning of the health care needs of Residents as well as supervision of the nursing department.

Duties/Responsibilities:


•      Supervision over Nursing staff and the medication delivery system


•      Training new Caregivers along with training for existing caregivers


•      Designation person in charge when the administrator is absent 


•      Plan and oversee admission, nursing, and patient care process


•      Adheres to practices in accordance with the regulations of the state


•      Oversee development, oversight, and maintaining Quality Assurance Program for nursing staff


•      Orders, Stores, and assists with medication according to physician orders


•      Assists with Resident care, meals, move-outs, and move-ins as needed


•      Observes and communicates any changes in resident's condition


•      Completes and reviews incident reports as needed


•      Maintain current Resident records for each Resident including but not limited to; obtaining current physician orders, clarifying orders, and alert monthly charting


•      Answering, responding to call lights, and door alarms as needed


•      Knows and follows Emergency Procedures, Elopement, and all other procedures


•      Attends and completes all assigned training to me DSS regulations


•      Keeps resident information confidential; respecting Resident rights; respects privacy

 

Job Qualifications:


•      Must be certified as a Registered Medication Aide or LPN


•      Must have good organizational skills and supervisory skills


•      Willing to praise and discipline team members as appropriate


•      Must have an acceptable criminal record check


•      Documented TB Screening


•      Must have or complete CPR/1st Aide within 60 days of employment


•      Must be able to perform Resident care with awareness of dignity and individuality, understanding and concern


•      Must perform unpleasant tasks with grace; works cooperatively with supervisors and display a willingness to assist co-workers


•      Must abide by established policies and procedures of the community

Duties/Responsibilities:


•      Adheres to practices in accordance with the regulations of the state


•      Documents in the communication log and shower schedule for information and changes


•      Assists Residents with ADL, environmental orientation, vital signs, first aide, and wound care


•      Communicates with outside health professionals


•      Practices good infection control and universal precautions


•      Uses EMAR system


•      Orders, stores, and assists with medication according to current physician orders and community Policies


•      Performs medication pass as needed/required


•      Assists with Resident care, Resident meals, move-outs, and move-ins as needed


•      Observed and communicated any changes in Resident's physical or mental condition


•      Completes incident reports as needed


•      Responsible for cleanliness and organization of nurse station


•      Assists with training of new members


•      Supervises and monitors Resident Assistants


•      Maintain service plans


•      Makes sure that medication cart is properly organized and stocked for next shift


•      Maintains clean comfortable and safe environment for Residents and team members


•      Answer and response to call lights and alarms


•      Knows and follows emergency procedures


•      Performs duties assigned by RCC or Administrator


•      Must attend/complete trainings assigned to meet DSS regulations


•      Keeps Resident information confidential; respects Resident rights; respects privacy

 

Job Qualifications:


•      Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse


•      Must meet requirements imposed by the licensing authorities


•      Great communication / interpersonal skills


•      Must pass a background check


•      Must have a reliable mode of transportation


•      Documented TB Screening


•      Must have or complete CPR/1st aide training within the first 60 days of employment


•      Must maintain acceptable attendance record


•      Self-Starter and requires minimal supervision


•      Essential functions include but are not limited to standing, walking, lifting, bending, etc. 


•      Reliable, calm, and willing to serve others.
