Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer

Project Management

(Quality, Automotive APQP & PPAP)

The company is a well-established, global Multi Billion $ Automotive Components & systems supplier with Manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. The Manufacturing Engineer will work very closely with the Manufacturing Team, Quality Team and Production Operations Teams to track various projects using APQP (advanced product quality planning) & PPAP (production part approval process).

Job Function:

  • Manage Projects – Identify and prioritize key actions on projects…mainly items required by APQP and PPAP
  • Work involves tracking status of APQP & PPAP on projects, projects involve new manufacturing equipment or retrofit of existing equipment. Work will involve tracking and reporting of status and progress of manufacturing equipment internally with manufacturing engineers, and process engineers and quality engineers and externally at suppliers.
  • Provide status reports to customer personnel and internal to the company.
  • Work closely with various customers to understand their needs and priority. Provide information to customers and get customer approvals and buy-ins.

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Engineer gained at an automotive company.
  • Knowledge managing customer projects, timeline and customer communication.  
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Automotive Quality process such as APQP and PPAP process.
  • Good Communications, Good interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and multitasking are essential.
  • Degree is a plus (it is not required if you have the right experience).
