Job Description

A not-for-profit organization located in downtown Chicago is in need of an HR Generalist to join their team! The HR Generalist will directly report to the Hr Director and will take on responsibilities in multiple different HR-related capacities. The salary range for this role is $55-58k. 

Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:

  • Administer benefit plans and educate employees about options 
  • Recruit new employees for the organization
  •  Maintain federal, state, and local compliance with benefit laws
  • Process unemployment and assist with any discrepancies
  • Coordinate potential new employee interviews, screenings, and onboarding cycle
  • Record and update any changes in contact information, job descriptions, and other various confidential information
  • Ad hoc administrative and Human Resource tasks as necessary

Job Requirements

Requirements of the HR Generalist:

  • Exposure to payroll system, payroll processing, and recruiting is required
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly organized and able to multitask very well
