Job Description

Responsible for the preparation of detailed production schedules which optimize yields, finished product and manpower for a 24 hour, seven day a week operation. Responsible for providing maximum customer service by meeting those scheduled deadlines and rescheduling to improve shipping dates when required by and related to Tank and Wareroom production capabilities. Responsible for detailed follow-up of all schedules and informing departmental supervision of all scheduling problems. Prepares and distributes necessary follow-up reports. Duties and Responsibilities -Monitors orders for customer requirements and for exceptions to plant production capabilities. -Updates computer with special customer requirements and instructions on orders to ensure that all orders are processed correctly, and when needed. -Uses knowledge of production parameters to make a determination of optimum available cutting lines or equipment on which to schedule the various requirements. -Communicates with corporate customer service staff in regard to order status, cancellations, order changes, production schedules, quick cycle orders, inquiries, etc. -Communicates with Production management to review planning on upcoming schedules, communicate deviations, etc. -Receives and processes all order changes and cancellations, determining at which step the order is in the production process and notifying the appropriate personnel affected. -Determines thickness and width changes and lengths of runs within these categories, based on orders to be produced and scheduling parameters and guidelines. Keeps the Tank and Wareroom informed of all future thickness and ribbon width changes and discusses any unusual requirements with them. -Provides completed cutting schedules considering a multitude of variables which include mix management, yields, through put, customer service, line efficiencies and manpower. -Identifies and improves layout loss on schedules, by the inclusion of future orders (or stock sizes). -Handles line reassignments for best yield, line balancing and customer service. In addition, the scheduler provides a breakdown of each schedules’ mix to production management. -Distributes schedule documents and packing tickets to proper locations and provides communication of planned schedules and possible problems or deviations. -Reacts to tank quality changes or equipment problems when they arise. -Reschedules breakages, shortages or missed containers in order to minimize shipping delays on an as needed basis. -Schedule inserts and quick cycle orders into previously committed orders to meet customer requirements and to minimize losses when possible. -Maintain backup and changeover schedules. -Determines product zones and maintain zoning sheet assignment. -Maintain monthly Business Operating System (BOS) reports -Place a container on QC hold on an as needed basis. -Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all safety rules and policies. -Materials ordering and inventory for both Wareroom and Shipping to meet shipment demands. -Glass zoning with specific thickness and location to enhance truck schedule appointments.

Job Requirements

Must be detail oriented and produce accurate work product; flexible, cooperative, and possess excellent communication skills with all levels of management and production personnel. Ability to handle varied tasks at the same time and adjust work schedules appropriately. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Two years schedule experience in a manufacturing environment Intermediate to advanced level computer skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Access, SPF, WMS, IRRAP and COPIS.
