Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY (Short summary of the essential purpose of the job)

 

The Director of the Education and Training Department will manage and direct the growth and development of the Foster and Adoptive Family Services’ training program and ensure that the staff of the department meets or exceeds all contract objectives as listed in the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) contract. In addition, the director will ensure all staff performs their assigned duties in an efficient and professional manner. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED (Minimum education and experience needed to perform the job adequately)

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree preferred

·         Minimum three years supervisory experience

·         Minimum three years experience in adult education, budget management and strategic planning

·         Ability to prepare and give effective training and presentations

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and how to operate a calculator with knowledge of general mathematics  

·         Highly organized and detailed-oriented

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Has a proven ability to meet tight deadlines

·         Has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

·         Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL DESIRED:

Knowledge of web-based training programs to include online and webinar training and presentations

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job)

 

·         Supervises the FAFS training staff and maintains a good working relationship with all FAFS staff

·         Conducts staff reviews to include goal establishment, coaching and disciplinary actions if

            necessary

·         Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding FAFS’ training contract objectives

·         Oversees development of new trainings and revisions of older trainings

·         Oversees online training development and implementation

·         Oversees webinar development and training

·         Establishes and maintains working relationships with key Department of Children and

            Family(DCF) Staff

·         Participates on various panels and work groups as directed by the FAFS CEO

·         Researches ways to market FAFS training beyond the DCF contract and bring these ideas forward to the CEO

·         Meets regularly with department staff to discuss department progress, sharing of ideas and

            concerns

·         Provides CEO with reports as directed

·         Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO 

 

 

ADA SPECIFICATIONS (Physical demands that must be met in order to successfully complete the essential functions of the job)

                

This position is primarily sedentary and is located in the Foster and Adoptive Family Services office.  There may be a minimal amount of lifting up to 20 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in person and on the telephone.  The employee is required to stand, walk, sit and reach above the shoulders. This job requires the staff person to work evenings and weekends as needed.
